Industrial Architecture
We design industrial spaces built for performance—environments that support efficiency, innovation, and the evolving needs of modern manufacturing.
Architecture Rooted in Place, Purpose, and Expertise
At Anderson Porter Design, our approach to industrial architecture focuses on creating facilities that optimize workflow, safety, and long-term adaptability. Every project is thoughtfully planned to support operational efficiency while accommodating the technical requirements of production, storage, and distribution.
Our team understands that effective design for manufacturing requires careful coordination between layout, equipment needs, logistics, and employee experience. By balancing functionality with durable, forward-thinking design, we create industrial environments that perform today while allowing room for future growth and technological advancement. Partner with us to create industrial facilities designed to support your operations now and into the future.
Featured Industrial Architecture Projects
LEVIA
Anderson Porter Design collaborated with Levia to support the design of a facility tailored to their innovative cannabis-infused beverage production. The space was thoughtfully planned to accommodate precise manufacturing processes, regulatory requirements, and efficient workflows, ensuring consistent product quality within a clean, controlled environment.
Laborie
Anderson Porter Design was engaged by Laborie Medical Technologies to execute a targeted retrofit of their Westborough facility, focused on enhancing warehouse organization and storage efficiency. The project delivered a code-compliant, strategically planned racking system upgrade supported by detailed documentation, coordination, and construction oversight.
Our INDUSTRIAL DESIGN Services
-
This foundational phase runs in parallel across multiple teams. Due Diligence involves site and regulatory research by the architect and customer consultants, while Programming defines the project’s goals and operational needs. The result is a clear understanding of site constraints and a preliminary layout that aligns with your business model.
-
Industrial Schematic Design translates the program into initial architectural concepts. We collaborate with engineers and consultants to develop layout options, evaluate code compliance, and prepare documents for early pricing and permit applications.
-
In this phase, the industrial design is refined in greater detail. Material selections, fixture schedules, and engineering systems are coordinated. The focus is on integrating all disciplines to ensure constructability and cost accuracy.
-
Construction Documents finalize all design decisions into detailed drawings and specifications ready for bidding, permitting, and construction. Final pricing packages are produced, and documents are submitted for approvals.
-
During construction, the architect provides support to ensure the project is built per design. This includes responding to contractor questions, reviewing submittals, observing progress, and resolving issues in real-time.
