Awards and Publications

Anderson Porter Design just completed a research project for Allsteel looking at current work and future directions for the workplace. The report and working concept 'NetWork' is now in progress for possible implementations and case studies.

The Sprint Digital Lounge Table received a 2010 Interactive Award from Applied Arts Magazine in the Offline Digital category. A great follow up to the 2009 Communication Arts Interactive Award.

Anderson Porter Design is a member of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and principal Bill Porter is now a LEED accredited professional. Our recently completed Cambridge residential renovation and addition project is EnergyStar certified and completing documentation for LEED for Homes. Incorporating high efficiency envelope design with ground source heat pumps and rooftop solar hot water this historic home achieved a HERS index rating of 61 providing Exceptional Energy Performance above the requirements of EnergyStar.

 

The Sprint Digital Lounge Table received a 2009 Interactive Annual Best Interactive of the Year Award from Communication Arts. Our ongoing collaboration with Tactable includes the upcoming installation of a permanant interactive exhibit at the National Air and Space Museum at the Smithsonian Institute Washington DC.

Bill Porter presented Linking Workplace Strategy to Organizational Performance on January 13, 2009 and led a discussion on the centrality of workplace design and the quality of work life to organizational performance for the Boston Chapter of the Association for Strategic Planning.

In December 2008 we completed a new retail identity program for Thornes Northampton a downtown retail center located in a historic brick and beam Main Street building. The project included retail concepts, identity graphics, interior lease layouts and common area improvements, and implementation phasing sequences. Strategic retail planning and development was provided by our consulting partners Todreas Hanley Associates

In October 2008 we completed a conceptual design proposal for a media innovation cafe located in the Abu Dhabi Media Zone in conjunction with workplace collaborator Mike Joroff. The project featured a variety of interactive media rich work and entertainment areas fostering a social network for knowledge creation and exchange in the heart of the proposed two million square foot incubator center.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston project received the Merit Award for Landscape Design from the Boston Society of Landscape Architecture in 2008. The project also received the 2008 Sectional IIDA Award from the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America.

The Princeton Public Library - Goodnow Memorial Building Renovation received the Massachusetts Preservation Award in 2001 from the Massachusetts Historical Commission. The project also received the 2003 Honor Award for Design Excellence from Preservation Worcester and AIA Central Massachusetts
